Bio

Christopher Gordon Johnson is a Canadian artist that now lives in Australia. In 2003, Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours and a History degree from the University of Ottawa. For most of the 2000s, Chris travelled to Europe, Asia, and Australia. Chris has lived and exhibited his art extensively in Toronto, Canada for many years until he moved to Geelong, Australia with his Australian partner in late 2011.

Christopher’s artistic practice is primarily figurative oil paintings. Much of the subject matter explores how people interact within their environment. In his paintings, Chris aims to leave the narrative content of his works open allowing the viewer to form their own interpretations. The themes are based on Chris’ life experiences and explore how his Canadian heritage connects with his life in Australia.
